Heather Mitchell is an energetic, twenty-first century mother of three children with traditional American values and a loving spouse of a devoted active duty, prior-enlisted Marine Corps Officer. Together they’ve successfully raised their family while navigating the trials and tribulations that come with the adventures of jumping around military bases all over the world. When Heather and her family moved to Stafford, they quickly fell in love with the Commonwealth and all the opportunities it offered and they decided to make the great state of Virginia their permanent home.
A military spouse is a very special companion, they are the rock of support upon which our service men and women rely whether at home or abroad. Heather understands and appreciates that honored service and all the sacrifices that make that service possible. Heather has valuable experience with several key positions regarding our military community and has been instrumental in helping our military families achieve and maintain family readiness prior to, during and after a deployment. Over the years Heather has dedicated countless hours of her time caring for others and is the first call that many in our community, especially our military members make when they need help.
Heather has always been interested, committed and actively engaged in the issues of local and state politics. She understands that all politics is indeed local and that the key to employing the power of the people in order to effect change resides in truly knowing the people. Neighborhood by neighborhood Heather has shared many experiences, enjoyed great commonality and simply defines what it means to be “in touch”. Heather is currently serving as a Senior Aide to the Prince William County Board of Supervisors. From this position, working with local officials she has been able to address many of the concerns in our community.
